Reflections by CA. Sadasivam Ramalingam on "Documentation and Tools on Tax Audit" CPE Seminar Held at Vellore Branch of SIRC of ICAI on 1st SEP 2012

Dear Sri.Gopala Krishna Raju -

You did a wondeful job of handling 'Docmentation and Tools on Tax Audit' at Vellore. I as a 1st generation CA is handling audit and maintaining working papers to a reasonably better way to comply with the professional requirement as expected by the institute. Thanks to a good training I had with Mr.V.Krishnan, past regional council member. Last Saturday we had the benefit of sharing 2 generations of auditing office experience and exposure. I learned a lot and noted many useful points. A few points to mention :

  1. To take a copy of clients a/cing data and to work on it for auditing pupose. To share that data with the IT officers.
  2. Acceptance of soft copies as evidence specified by the IT Act, 2000 and IT (Amendment) Act, 2008.
  3. For huge stock value better to get another CA's certificate.
  4. Control chart of group transactions.

I mention these points, apart from thanking and complimenting you, to make you feel happy that your effort has really benifited many members.

Your system knowledge is quite amazing. I had seen this in your article on XBRL, your session on utilities of XL and on last Saturday while demonstrating - importing of bank statement from bank data and step by step fine tuning for our analitical purpose.

Nice to see such knowledgeable people in the council contributing a lot for our members. May God contiue to Bless you with knowledge and wisdom for ever.
