We are glad that this unique seminar is jointly organised by Information Technology Committee, Committee for Members in Industry and Committee on Internal Audit of SIRC of ICAI. The venue of the program is ICAI Bhawan, Brahmayya Memorial Hall, Chennai. Risk-based audit (RBA) is an approach to audit that is gaining significance in the recent past. RBA analyses audit risks, sets materiality thresholds based on audit risk analysis and develops audit programmes that allocate a larger portion of audit resources to high-risk areas. The entire session is webcast to leverage knowledge using technology. Webcasting is “broadcasting” over the Internet. Archive Webcasting is the deferred webcasting of the pre-recorded CPE program. The program structure is given for your reference.

Integrated Professional Competence Examination [Paper 7  - Section B] and Professional Competence Examination [Paper 6 - Section B] 

Strategic Management

The  students of Integrated Professional Competence  Course  [Paper 7  - Section B  – Strategic
Management] and Professional Competence Course [Paper 6 - Section B – Strategic Management] may
note that there will be no Case Study (carrying 15 marks) in the examinations.
Instead of the Case Study a compulsory question containing five sub-divisions carrying three marks each
would be included to cover maximum possible topics from the syllabus.
The new pattern of the question paper shall be applicable from November, 2011 examinations.

Erode Branch of SIRC of ICAI - CA Career Awareness Program - KSR Group of Institutions - Tiruchengode (20 Kms from Erode, Namakkal District)

Folks,

On 25th Thursday, I was in Tiruchengode, an Educational Town in the District of Namakkal in Tamilnadu. Hardly 20 Kms from Erode.

Alongwith with me the Chairman of Erode Branch CA. CP Suresh Kumar, Secretary of the Branch CA. Thangavel and SICASA Chairman CA. Ayub and Three other members were present on behalf of the Erode Branch of SIRC for Career Awareness about CA to students of M/s. KSR Group of Educational Institutions, Tiruchengode.

Close to 300 students attended in a closed A/c auditorium. The session started by 10:30 am with a prayer and immediately after few minutes of introduction the floor was handed over to me.

I was well prepared with powerpoints, video shots and slide shows on motivating and interesting facts for the students.

Close to two hour, the session rolled over like a smoothie. I don't know whether i deserve it, the session ended with a standing ovation.

Later, after lunch met the Chairman Shri. KS Rangaswamy in person alongwith all the dignitaries of the Erode Branch.
